2012.08.08 09:26:08 MARKET TALK: China Govt Bonds End Flat; Focus On CPI Thurs-Trader

0726 GMT [Dow Jones] China government bonds close unchanged in low
volume, as investors refrain from adding fresh positions ahead of the
release of July CPI data Thursday morning, says a Beijing-based trader
with a local brokerage. China's CPI growth likely slowed to 1.7% in
July from June's 2.2%, according to the median forecast of 16
economists polled by Dow Jones Newswires. "Despite easing inflation
expected in July, investors are worried that CPI will speed up in
August given rising food prices," the trader adds. The PBOC also
warned in its second-quarter monetary policy report last week that the
country's CPI could rebound in August. The Shanghai exchange
government bond index ends at 134.20, unchanged from Tuesday's close,
and is tipped to consolidate in a 134.15-134.25 band Thursday.
